Culture and History

The Kavalier Glassworks in Bezvěrov was founded in 1867 by the Czech entrepreneur Eduard Kavalier. It produced hollow glass, crystal glass, chemical glass and, above all, laboratory glass, which was also valued overseas; operations ended in 1923. The former Kavalier Glassworks comprises a group of residential buildings and factory buildings classified as technical cultural heritage.

Eight preserved sandstone boundary stones from a historic boundary system dating from 1686 have survived in the cadastral area of Bezvěrov. Due to the extent to which it has been preserved, the boundary-stone ensemble of Bezvěrov is considered an exceptional example of the marking of property boundaries in the 17th century and an important testimony to historical development.

The Chapel of Saint Florian in Bezvěrov dates from the second half of the 19th century and contains a bell that is still in use today. Every year on November 30, the feast of Saint Andrew, a pilgrimage mass with Trappist brothers is held in the Church of Saint Andrew in Krašov.
