Culture and history

A prominent landmark of Mířkov is the Church of St. Vitus on the northern edge of the village square. It has been documented in papal tithe registers since 1352; its present form dates from the 15th century.

Nature and trails

The Sedmihoří educational trail is a 10 km circular route that begins at the gamekeeper’s lodge “Miřkovská hájenka”.

The Sedmihoří protected landscape area adjoining Mířkov offers full-day hikes on well-maintained forest paths, as well as terrain for more experienced hikers.

There are numerous ponds in the vicinity of Mířkov that are suitable for swimming and fishing.

The marked 20 km cycle route 2241 passes through Mířkov and into the Sedmihoří Nature Park. The KČT yellow-marked hiking trail 6653 passes by the Mířkov ponds and continues towards Pod Jedlovým vrchem; this trail also leads from Horšovský Týn railway station to Mířkov.

Landscape

In the immediate vicinity of Mířkov are Rybniční vrch hill and the hill “Rozsocha [Mířkov]”. In the wider regional area are the mountains Železný vrch and Škarmanka.
