Trhanov: Hotels and Accommodation
At the heart of Trhanov is the Trhanov Castle complex; it is one of the cultural monuments of the Czech Republic.
Castle and Religious Buildings
Trhanov Castle was built in 1676–1677 by Volf Maxmilián z Lamingenu as an originally Baroque summer residence. The Church of St John of Nepomuk is also part of the local history: it was built in 1810 on the site of a chapel founded as early as 1706. Its tower dates from 1818.
The Trhanov village heritage zone was designated on 22 September 1995 by Decree No. 249 of the Ministry of Culture.
Townscape and Memorial Sites
A castle park stretches north of Trhanov Castle. West of the castle, there is a statue of St John of Nepomuk by the pond. Trhanov also has a niche chapel at a crossroads. Above the village, on the road to Domažlice, there is a wayside shrine.
Memorials
The Lomikar Linden Avenue commemorates the battles between the Choden people and the local nobility.
Routes and Geographical Setting
Trhanov railway station is located on line 184 between Domažlice and Planá u Mariánských LáznÃ. The route to ÄŒerchov is considered moderately difficult; the climb to the summit is difficult.
