Hrádek: Hotels and Accommodations

Hrádek combines a Renaissance history with historic churches, natural areas, and a variety of leisure experiences. At its heart is Zámek Hrádek, which was probably converted from a medieval fortress into a Renaissance château after 1590.

Culture

In the château park, the Naučná stezka Františka Pravdy educational trail uses information panels to explain the history of Zámek Hrádek and the municipality of Hrádek. The trail also covers the historic gold mining along the Ostružná River.

In the vicinity of Hrádek, the Kostel sv. Vavřince na Zdouni church was built in the first half of the 13th century in the Romanesque-Gothic style. Also nearby is the Kostel Zvěstování Panny Marie ve Zbynicích church, which is of Romanesque origin and was built at the end of the 12th or beginning of the 13th century. This church was formerly a popular pilgrimage site in the foothills of the Bohemian Forest.

Nature

North of Hrádek in the Klatovy District lies the Zbynické rybníky Nature Reserve. It protects a breeding area and resting place for waterfowl.

The Svatobor mountain lies in the vicinity of Hrádek. The Vosík mountain [Hartmanice-Javoříc], Vysoký mountain, and Sedlo mountain [Sušice-Albrechtice] are also located in the surrounding area.

Leisure

The Zámecká herna pro děti is located in a former Baroque granary and is now a play area for children aged 2 to 9. Zámek Hrádek has an 18-hole adventure golf course that combines traditional golf with elements of mini-golf; its obstacles are inspired by traditional golf.

Sklárna Liběnka glassworks also includes a shop and a gallery. There, visitors can watch a glassblower work at a hot furnace, making blown and unblown glass pieces.
