Nalžovské Hory: Hotels and Accommodations

Nalžov Castle is a four-winged building with an enclosed courtyard. It was originally a late Renaissance structure, probably built in the 1620s.

Culture and History

In the 1740s, Nalžov Castle was rebuilt in the late Baroque style; after 1840, it acquired its present late Empire form.

The Church of St. Catherine stands approximately in the middle of Nalžovské Hory on the old road, on elevated ground above a stream. It can be accessed from the old road and from the area in front of the rectory. Built as a Baroque church in 1721–1723, it stands in Nalžovy, a district of Nalžovské Hory.

Nature and Trails

Northeast of and above Nalžovské Hory lies Prašivice Forest Park on Mount Prašivice. A marked hiking trail leads directly from Nalžov Castle into the forest park. The sights in the forest park can be visited on an easy walk along a marked hiking trail.

Along the route through Prašivice Forest Park, there is a dragon painted on a partially worked natural rock block, a turtle carved from another rock block, and another dragon.

The blue-marked TT 1421 hiking trail runs through Prašivice and Nalžovské Hory. Cycling route CT 2080 leads from Klatovy via Nalžovské Hory to Čejkovy.

Summer Evenings Under the Open Sky

The Nalžovské Hory summer cinema screens films outdoors, amid evening scenery and at sunset. For more than ten years, shared summer evenings have been held there under the starry sky.
