Horažďovice Castle is the dominant feature of the historic town center and serves as a venue for cultural activities. This historical focus is complemented by the Church of St. Peter and Paul, which was built between 1260 and 1273 and remodeled in the Baroque style between 1700 and 1720. It houses a Madonna dating from 1775 and a Gothic, chalice-shaped baptismal font.

Culture and History

The Horažďovice Town Museum is located at Mírové náměstí 11, in the castle. This places the museum and castle at the same historic site, while the Church of St. Peter and Paul preserves further concrete evidence of the town's history.

Experiences

The “Gold Panning on the Otava” field excursion introduces visitors to the history of gold panning on the Otava, demonstrates gold panning in practice, and provides instructions. Horažďovice Aquapark offers a 62-meter-long water slide, a children's pool with two slides, massage jets and a water play area, a pearl bath, a lazy river, and a sauna world.
