Capartice: Hotels and Accommodation

In Capartice, the Capartické louky educational trail begins and ends at the car park on the main road next to the bus stop. This car park serves as the starting point for the Výhledy viewpoint with the statue of the local writer Jindřich Šimon Baar, for the educational trail, and for the signposted hiking trail to Čerchov with the Kurzova věž observation tower. The educational trail’s approximately 2 km-long, easy circular route leads through the southern part of the Český les Protected Landscape Area. It runs along paved and unpaved paths, features easy terrain, and is also suitable for small children; play elements illustrate the effects of water.

Mount Čerchov is located in the vicinity of Capartice. Mount Škarmanka is also located nearby. The mountains Dreiwappen and Spálený vrch are also situated in the area around Capartice.

History

Capartice was founded in 1705 by Count Jan Stadion to provide wood for the Stadion family’s hammer mills and glassworks. When an old country road ran through Capartice, the U zeleného stromu inn once stood at the highest point of the village. Horse-drawn teams came as far as here; below Klenčí Hill, they were harnessed to heavy wagons or attached to them.

Culture

The Schwärzenberg ruins are located in the wider regional surroundings of Capartice. Chammünster, with the parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, a church, is also located in this wider regional area.
