The Koloveč Museum of Technology and Crafts presents 67 complete craft workshops and trades, as well as twelve technical exhibitions.

Crafts and local history

The museum’s exhibits include clocks and mechanical musical instruments, prams and toys, electrical appliances, kitchen equipment, animal traps, exhibits on milk processing, and a fire station. The Koloveč Museum of Technology and Crafts also offers registered groups of more than ten people a demonstration on the potter’s wheel.

The Volf family pottery workshop in Koloveč has been producing traditional folk ceramics since 1785 and is still in operation. The Volf family’s pottery craft has been passed down from father to son in Koloveč for seven generations.

The church tower in Koloveč is 35 metres high, and inside the church there is an original sculpture of the Stations of the Cross. In a major fire in Koloveč in 1729, a total of 51 houses, the town hall, the school, and the church were destroyed. The church was rebuilt in the Baroque style after the fire; reconstruction was completed in 1732.

Today’s town hall in Koloveč was rebuilt in 1826–1830 after the former town hall burned down and now serves as a library and clubroom. The Liberation Monument in Koloveč was restored in 1990 in the town centre, just four metres from its original location.
