Krsy: Hotels and Accommodations

The Church of Saint Lawrence in Krsy is originally Gothic and dates from the early 14th century; it was later remodeled in the Baroque and Neoclassical styles. Its interior preserves Late Gothic statues of Saint Anne and Saint Blaise dating from around 1500.

Culture and History

Opposite the Church of Saint Lawrence in Krsy stands the former rectory, a protected Late Baroque building from the second half of the 18th century. Another historic site is Umíř: The abandoned settlement belongs to the municipality of Krsy and is located in the Manětín Uplands Nature Park. Its chapel is the last surviving building of the settlement, which has since disappeared; five wells, several cellars, and a chapel have also been preserved in Umíř to this day.

The Krsy Noon Clocks are an astronomical cultural heritage site consisting of two parallel stone blocks. One bears the carved year 1874, while the other bears the inscription „MERIDIUM“.

Landscape

Polínský vrch lies in the cadastral area of the municipality of Krsy, is a prominent landscape feature in the municipality, and is an important element of the landscape. The area around Polínský vrch contains evidence of prehistoric settlement and a former basalt quarry. Polínský vrch is used, among other things, for climbing and camping.

Views and Local Life

At the Krsy Environmental Centre, there is a viewpoint on the southern side offering views toward the village square, the Church of Saint Lawrence, and the picturesque landscape horizon.

A traditional Masopust carnival takes place in Krsy; it is organized by the municipality of Krsy and the Krsy Volunteer Fire Brigade.
