Lipno: Hotels and accommodations
Lipno is one of the gateways to the recreational area of the Hracholuský Reservoir. The Hracholuský Reservoir stretches for 22 km along the Mže between StÅ™Ãbro and Pilsen.
History and culture
Lipno was first mentioned in 1316; at that time, it was called Bohosud z Lipna. The Baroque chateau in Lipno formerly also included a chapel dedicated to Saint Anne, which was consecrated in 1715.
1.75 km south of Lipno lies the significant archaeological site of Staré Lipno. It contains settlement phases from the Late Bronze Age, the early Middle Ages, and the transition from the Early to the High Middle Ages. The site of the Staré Lipno hillfort is protected by a high triple stone cross rampart; double to triple fortifications have also been preserved on its western side. In the vicinity of Lipno lies the late medieval Buben castle ruin at the confluence of the Úlický potok and the Mže.
Water
On the Hracholuský Reservoir, the Josef Švamberk excursion boat operates regular services from June to the end of September; the season runs from June to September. In the wider surroundings of Lipno, fishing is permitted without interruption in the Hracholuský Reservoir in the Mže 4 fishing area (number 431 028).

On the way
The 31.6 km-long Hracholusky circular trail runs along the southern shore of the reservoir to Lipno. From Lipno, the circular trail leads to a unique group of statues of Roman soldiers at the reservoir, a modern art installation commemorating the history of Roman trade routes to Bohemia.
