Líšná: Hotels and accommodations
Líšná lies on an elevated plateau at about 525 m above sea level. Fields surround the village; beyond them stretch extensive forests. The ruins of Řebřík Castle lie 2 km northwest of Líšná and can be reached via the green-marked trail.
Culture and history
Řebřík Castle was built at the beginning of the 14th century. It began to fall into disrepair as early as the end of the 15th century; it probably finally disappeared together with the nearby village of the same name at the beginning of the 16th century.
The core of Řebřík Castle was dominated by a three-part palace. It also included two outer baileys, which were separated from the castle core by massive moats.
The surviving remains of the castle’s economic surroundings include a farmyard, a quarry pit and a pond. A connecting route can be identified in the form of hollow ways.
Today, the only evidence of the vanished village of Řebřík, which was located below the castle, is the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, dating from around the middle of the 14th century.
Trails and cultural traces
The “From Castle to Castle” route is described as moderately difficult and takes up to 610 minutes. It passes the Church of St. Wenceslas on the village square in Líšná; the church dates from 1869.
The sister of the young painter Mikuláš Aleš stayed at the Na Chrastech forester’s lodge. The Stations of the Cross by Adriana Skálová are located by the Church of Saints Peter and Paul at Řebřík; occasional classical music concerts are held at the church.
The Church of St. Peter in the Řebřík locality contains tombstones from the original church of the vanished village of Řebřík.
