History and Memorial Sites

The written history of Líně dates back to 1115: the village was first mentioned in a document of Kladruby Monastery at that time. The presumed original occupations of the people of Líně included not only agriculture but also fish farming and basketmaking. The mining monument on Sulkov has been renovated.

Another memorial site is the Military Aviators’ Monument in Líně. It commemorates the activities of the 5th Fighter Squadron and features a MiG-19 PM fighter aircraft.

Trails and Events

The twelve-kilometre Líňská okružní trasa is a circular route around Líně, created by the Municipality of Líně in 2012 together with the Líně local branch of KČT. The Military Aviators’ Monument is located directly along this route and Cycle Route 2271.

The Líně local branch of KČT, the Líně local branch of the Club of Czech Tourists, organises three major tourism events in Líně every year. Its members pursue hiking, cycle tourism, and ski tourism. The Líňský maraton is a recurring hiking and cycling event; the 39th edition was scheduled for 9 May 2026.

Water and Leisure

Okružinka (U Křížků) in Líně forms the RADBUZA 1 C/R fishing district, covering an area of 3.75 hectares; fishing is permitted there. Sport fishing is offered at Hráz-Sulkov.

The Sportovní areál Líně offers an outdoor swimming pool as well as sports, music events, festivals, and barbecue facilities.

The nearby surroundings of Líně include Šibeniční vrch hill [Úherce u Nýřan] and Volský vrch hill [Nová Ves u Plzně]. The church “Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral” is also located in the vicinity of Líně. In the wider regional surroundings of Líně lie Radyně mountain and Berdovna mountain.
