Culture

The Church of the Archangel Michael stands on a slight elevation at the southern edge of Obora’s local square and directly adjoins the rectory complex. It is a single-nave Baroque building with a square tower and sacristy. It was first mentioned in 1250 in the Gothic style. It was built by Plasy Monastery in 1350 and remodeled in the Baroque style in 1708. Next to the church stands a monument to the victims of the First World War.

Trails

Obora is part of the Dolní Střela microregion. Tourists can use numerous marked hiking and cycling trails in this microregion. The 63-kilometer Baroko III cycling route between Koryta and Kaznějov also passes through Obora.

Getting There

The Obora u Kaznějova railway stop is located on line 160 between Plzeň and Žatec, which continues to Most. Access to the station building or the passenger shelter at the Obora u Kaznějova stop is step-free.

Events

At the end of the year, Obora hosts a traditional festival that also includes a walk along the boundaries of the municipal property marked by a ditch. On October 18, 2025, the 15th traditional DRAKIÁDA was held in a meadow above the chapel in the direction of Dobříč. At the Pouť in Obora in 2026, the municipal courtyard will feature rides and other attractions for children and adults.
