Culture and History

The late Baroque Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk stands next to the former school of Všekary. It was built in the first half of the 18th century during the reign of Maria Theresa. The Chapel of Všekary formerly housed, among other things, a Gothic statue of the Madonna from the 15th century.

Burial mounds from the Middle and Late Bronze Age, featuring a typical cremation burial rite, have been preserved in Všekary and the surrounding area. The virtual exhibition “Gallery of St. Barbara” can be visited. In the wider regional surroundings of Všekary lies the church “Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral”.

Mining and Landscape

Traces of lead and zinc ore mining are still preserved in the forests around Všekary. Mining traces dating from the end of the 19th century are known in the vicinity of the Church of St. Barbara and are associated with the Barbořin vrch mine; they may also originate from earlier periods.
