Rozvadov: Hotels and Accommodation

Near Rozvadov, Tillyho šance is a preserved field fortification from the Thirty Years’ War. From this historical reference point, the view opens onto further specific structures, protected nature and paths in the area surrounding the town.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint Wenceslas stands in Rozvadov. It was structurally completed in 1821 and consecrated in 1825. Its flat-roofed nave has rounded corners, the presbytery is vaulted, and the sacristy has an unusual shape.

In the wider regional surroundings of Rozvadov lies the historic site of Flossenbürg Concentration Camp.

Nature and Landscape

The Jezírka u Rozvadova protected area preserves a deep forest raised bog with peat bog lakes, characteristic communities and specially protected plant species. Schneeberg, listed as a mountain, lies in the vicinity of Rozvadov. The surrounding area also includes Mitterberg, listed as a mountain, Přimda, listed as a mountain, and Reh-Berg, listed as a mountain.

Paths and Viewpoints

The Vyhlídková naučná stezka is intended for hikers and cyclists. A large part of the route runs through forest and almost untouched nature. The Kolowratova naučná stezka is a route approximately 20 kilometres long with 13 stations.

The Milíře Lookout Tower offers the public a viewing platform accessible year-round, reached via 126 steps. In favourable weather, it provides views of the neighbouring area of Germany as well as parts of Český les, Smrčiny and Slavkovský les.

Geographical Location

The new Rozvadov–Waidhaus border crossing began operating in November 1997, at the same time as the opening of the new motorway.
