Semněvice: Hotels and Accommodation

Semněvice is situated in a prominent location on a plateau above the surrounding landscape. Between sacred buildings, traditional village features and a viewing area, the village reveals itself in clear, easily distinguishable facets.

Culture

The Church of St. George is a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The single-nave church has a rectangular ground plan, a projecting prismatic tower on the western façade and a three-sided apse. Its first documented mention dates from 1356. As part of the annual Night of Churches, Semněvice offered a guided tour of the Church of St. George in 2026.

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is also part of the furnishings and history of the village. The late Baroque work by the sculptor Karel Legát from Plzeň is dated to 1747 by a chronogram. The Semněvice vicarage is a High Baroque building; the inscription in the portal's keystone dates its construction to 1739.

Venkovská usedlost is a heritage-listed property in Semněvice and, at the same time, an example of more recent folk architecture. Its richly designed façade takes up the rhythm of gabled façades typical of the buildings around the village square.

On 27 April 2024, the fishing competitions were held again in Semněvice. In spring, they are traditionally part of the Semněvice pilgrimage festival of St. George.

Nature

From the Semněvice lookout, there are views of Sedmihoří Nature Park and the Český les. The viewing area includes a wooden lookout tower, complemented by a pavilion with seating.

In the undeveloped area of Semněvice, recreation, hiking and cycling are intended to take place on the agricultural roads used for these purposes in the landscape.

When the harvest is good, summer visitors can take something good home with them from Fara Semněvice.
