Culture

In 1702, Prokop Vojtěch decided to establish a game reserve near Jemčina and build a hunting lodge there for summer stays and the hunting season. Jemčina Hunting Lodge is registered as a protected cultural monument.

The Chapel of St. Wenceslas in Stajka was restored in 2025 as part of a project focused on small sacred architecture. The exterior and interior plasterwork, damaged benches, and the altar were repaired or restored.

The wider region around Hatín is home to Landštejn Castle, the Church of St. Andrew, the Geyersteine Monument, and the Lunkowitz Cross Shrine.

Nature

Holná in the Jemčina forests covers 244 hectares and is one of the oldest artificial water-management structures in Bohemia. Below the Jemčina weir, the Nežárka flows between higher, partly regulated banks; broad meadows lie along the river, with extensive forest areas farther away.

At the Jemčina weir on the Nežárka, boats can easily be carried from one bank to the other.

The hill “Křížky [Polště] outlook p.” is located in the immediate vicinity of Hatín. Mount Homolka and Mount Hůrka are located in the vicinity of Hatín. Mount Cihadlo is located in the wider region around Hatín.

Cycling

The signposted cycling route “In the Footsteps of Ema Destinová” passes through Jemčina and Hatín. It is 41 km long, takes 3 to 4 hours, and is rated easy.

In the former Jemčinská game reserve, directional signs for cyclists and pedestrians have been supplemented with tourist destinations.
