Velký Ratmírov: Hotels and accommodations

Velký Ratmírov was first mentioned in writing in 1420. White glass was produced below the village, and the largest of several historic fires occurred in 1908: it affected a total of 44 structures, including 21 farmsteads, 22 houses, and a chapel.

The Boží muka behind the railway keeper's house on the far side of the railway line are registered as an immovable cultural monument under the designation ÚSKP 20172/3-2368. They are located beyond a railway crossing at the edge of the forest and bear carved inscriptions.

A walking route leads from Jindřichův Hradec via Obora, Velký Ratmírov, and the lookout tower on Rýdův kopec back to Jindřichův Hradec.

The surroundings of Velký Ratmírov are suitable for walking excursions. They are also suitable for water sports.

Practical information

When arriving from Děbolín, a turn-off on the left at the edge of the village leads to the bathing area; afterward, approximately 200 meters of unpaved track must be covered. Because the unpaved track can become waterlogged, it is recommended to leave the car by the road or in the village.

At a Christmas swimming event in Velký Ratmírov, the general public was invited to attend; participation was free.
