Culture

The Kaple sv. Rodiny was built in 1726 at the expense of the clergyman Augustin Kavánek from Černá Hora and restored as a castle chapel in 1837. At the summit of Paseka Hill, it is designed as a central-plan building: an octagonal outer shell encloses an oval interior covered by a dome.

The Stations of the Cross was built in 1864 on the northeastern slope of Paseka. The 14-station Stations of the Cross runs along the northeastern slope of Paseka Hill and leads to the Kaple sv. Rodiny at the summit.

Beer from Černá Hora was consumed at a Templar ceremony documented on 16 July 1298. Traditional brewing methods are used at Pivovar Černá Hora; tours can be booked with at least one week’s advance notice. The Muzeum pivovarnictví is located in the cellar of the Sladovna hotel.

History

The Černohorský zámek was first documented as a castle in 1279. On 13 July 1866, important negotiations on the terms of an armistice between Austrian representatives and the Prussian side took place at the Černohorský zámek, including King Wilhelm I, General Moltke and Chancellor Bismarck.

Hansen remodeled the New Castle in the pseudo-Renaissance style; by 1862, the remodeling had been completed outside the tower.

Nature

As part of the remodeling of the Černohorský zámek, Paseka Hill and the area around the Oborský rybník were extensively landscaped as a park. This included, among other things, new roads and paths, rows of trees, and terraces around the castle.
