Blažovice: Hotels and Accommodation

The Blažovická kovárna was built around 1770. After the Velvet Revolution, its function was resumed under a metalworking licence; in Blažovice, it was operated by the sixth and seventh generations of the Kašpařík family.

The oldest memorial plaque states that the farmstead burned down completely on 17 August 1604 and was rebuilt in 1607. Other memorial plaques in Blažovice document the history of a farmstead that belonged to the Dominican convent of St Anne.

The Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Blažovice was consecrated on 10 June 1934 and dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The present Stations of the Cross were painted in 1954 by local painter Rudolf Paulík. At the northern entrance to the village stands the sculpture “Setkání”. It consists of four wooden pylons and was created by sculptor Mgr. Daniel Klose.

The Blažovická zvonice houses two memorial plaques commemorating fallen French soldiers and their commanders, Pierre Castex and Colonel Jean Pierre Morland. Boží muka pod Starými vinohrady commemorates the victims of the Battle of Austerlitz and the suffering of the inhabitants of the surrounding municipalities. The new Boží muka pod Starými vinohrady memorial column was unveiled on 2 December 1992 at the southern edge of the Blažovice cadastral area, at the crossroads of the roads from Prace to Křenovice and from Blažovice to Zbýšov.

The biocentre in Blažovice includes a pond depression planted with aquatic plants, which serves as a breeding site for protected amphibian species. The entire biocentre is suitable for relaxing Sunday walks and also includes an information board about the Bitvy tří císařů educational trail.

The pump track in Blažovice features an asphalt surface for riding bicycles or scooters, as well as a skill zone for improving bike control and riding technique. The pump track is freely accessible.

The Bitva tří císařů educational trail includes a section designated PS6 Blažovice–Jiříkovice. This section is connected with the decisive attack by French troops on Pratecké návrší and Staré vinohrady during the Battle of Austerlitz. The 31-kilometre “Po slavkovském bojišti I” route also passes through Blažovice.
