Ivaň: Hotels and accommodations
Ivaň lies on a river terrace between the Jihlava and Svratka rivers in the Dyjsko-svratecký úval. Remnants of floodplain forests have been preserved in the landscape. Within the cadastral area of Ivaň, the Jihlava and Svratka rivers converge before reaching the Věstonická nádrž reservoir.

Nature
The Dolní mušovský luh natural monument covers 48.6 hectares in the cadastral area of Ivaň. Betlém is a 10.87-hectare natural monument and wetland that was created on the site of former sand and gravel extraction. Part of the Věstonická nádrž reservoir extends into the cadastral area of Ivaň.
The bodies of water in Ivaň include wetlands, swamps and several oxbow lakes along the rivers and at their confluence. The Věstonická nádrž reservoir is part of the Natura 2000 bird protection area Ptačí oblast Střední nádrž Vodního díla Nové Mlýny. It is also a wintering area for white-fronted geese, bean geese and white-tailed eagles.
The Rybník Vrkoč pond is located near Ivaň. It covers 156.1 hectares and has approximately 5 kilometres of dikes. The easiest access to the pond is via the road from Ivaň to Pasohlávky near the guesthouse of the same name; from there, you can reach its main dike.
Culture
The Church of St Bartholomew in Ivaň dates from 1791 and was built on the foundations of an original chapel dating from 1724. It was substantially enlarged in 1811, and its tower was raised in 1842.
Wine and events
Vinařský dvůr na faře includes a restored wine cellar that is over 200 years old. A wine tasting at Easter is one of the traditional events in Ivaň.
Bartolomějské hody is a traditional event held in August in Ivaň. Staré hody is a traditional event held in October in Ivaň, which in recent years has been organised by women. The draining of the Rybník Vrkoč pond has taken place on the last weekend of October for several years.
Getting around
The Brno–Vienna cycle path runs through Ivaň. It mainly follows quiet roads away from the main routes and has no steep climbs.
