Hajany: Hotels and Accommodation
Hajany Castle is considered a heritage-listed building that documents the settlement’s original historical development. The castle complex includes an axially arranged clock-tower structure as well as green spaces with still-recognizable elements of the park design, including walls, terraces, stairways and a fountain. Despite progressive deterioration, which has significantly diminished its value, the castle complex retains its dominant role in Hajany’s urban structure. Its architecture is an example of a transitional style of rural construction featuring elements of late Classicism and early Historicism in the Brno region. At the end of the 18th century, the Smetana family had a single-storey Classical castle built here, along with a park and a private family crypt.

Culture
A chapel with a crucifix stands in Hajany’s village square and is listed as a protected immovable cultural monument under registration number 39770/7-702. Outside Hajany is the burial chapel of the Counts of Deym, also a protected immovable cultural monument, with registration number 30940/7-8084.
The burial chapel of the Counts d’Harnoncourt-Unversagt, later the Counts of Deym von Střítež, was built in the last quarter of the 19th century and is considered an important example of contemporary funerary architecture. Its entrance has been bricked up since the 1980s; the chapel is considered structurally unsound or at acute risk.
Hajany originally belonged to the Premonstratensian convent in Dolní Kounice. After 1323, Queen Eliška Přemyslovna exchanged Hajany with the Cistercian convent in Old Brno for the small town of Pravlov.
Hajany’s traditions include the “Oslavy osvobození”, during which historical uniforms are worn, and the “Hajanské hody”, featuring costumed festival leaders.
The interactive route relating to the Battle of Ořechov passes through sites associated with the battle and addresses the fighting between the Red Army and Nazi troops in 1945. The route takes approximately two hours.
The “Hajanská 15” event is a march in 2026; its 53rd edition will take place with the participation of the tourism department. “Hajanská běhna 2026” is an event of the tourism department and is organized by T.J. Sokol Hajany; it includes map information and online registration.
Nature
The valley of the Bobrava River, a nature reserve since 1982, lies in the immediate vicinity of Hajany. The area around Hajany is suitable for hiking.
