Boleradice: Hotels and Accommodations

The Church of St John the Baptist is considered the oldest and largest monument in the town and is also one of the four oldest churches in the Břeclav District. A Romanesque window can be found on its southern wall.

Culture and History

The Chapel of St Roch was rebuilt in 1888 and features a Baroque Revival style. A church service is currently held there once a year, in August.

Above Boleradice, in the Na Pasekách area, lie the remains of Boleradice Castle. Ditches and ramparts can still be seen there. The site is significant evidence of the transition from early medieval hillforts to an early feudal castle.

Local traditions include the Jánské hody festival. It takes place at the end of June on the weekend closest to the feast of the patron saint, St John. The Zavádka dance is also still practiced in Boleradice: it was revived there in 1993 and has continued in recent years.

Nature and Trails

The local hiking trails pass through wooded areas and offer views of the landscape characterized by rows of vineyards.

Via the Nikitěnkova cesta trail, a yellow-marked route leads to the blue-marked trail. This runs via Kobylí and Vrbice to Čejkovice, or in the opposite direction via Křepice to Velké Němčice. From Boleradice, cyclists can also join the Velkopavlovická wine trail.
