Starovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Many of Starovice’s wine cellars have been preserved in their original form and still serve their purpose to this day.

Culture and History

The village square of Starovice is dominated by the Church of St George and St Nicholas and its adjoining vicarage. The Church of St George and St Nicholas was built in the 16th century. During its extensive renovation in 1885, a nave was built over a vaulted stream bed.

Next to the Starovice municipal office stands the Baroque statue of the Immaculata from 1741. Next to the Church of St George and St Nicholas is a cross with Christ dating from 1792. There is also a statue of St Anthony on the village square.

A statue of St Gothard stands in the fields south of Starovice. The chapel of Starovice was moved three metres in 2005 because it protruded into the road. The Krojované hody took place in Starovice from 23 to 25 August 2024 and from 22 to 24 August 2025.

Wine and Landscape

The Velkopavlovická Wine Trail passes through Starovice and runs along its route between Popice and Hustopeče. In the vicinity of Starovice, it offers views of vineyards and apricot orchards.

Transport

Starovice has two bus stops: Starovice obec and Starovice–rozcestí. Road 00220 runs through Starovice and joins Road 425 after approximately 700 metres, providing access to the D2 motorway near Hustopeče.
