History and Culture
The late Baroque Church of Saint Anthony of Padua in Brumovice was built in 1784 by expanding an older Baroque chapel dating from 1716. The single-nave building is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
Brumovice is a settlement of colonial origin dating from the mid-13th century. Jan Herben was born in Brumovice on May 7, 1857.
Wine
Brumovice lies along the 150-kilometre-long Velkopavlovická Wine Trail. It runs through vineyards and along lanes with open wine cellars.
The Moravská Wine Trail forms the backbone of the Moravian wine trail network. The section of the Moravská Wine Trail that runs through Brumovice passes through all the wine-growing regions of southeastern Moravia. Two Moravian wine trails run through Brumovice.
The cycling route “Stezka Velkopavlovickem – krajem modrých hor” runs from Kobylí via Brumovice and Morkůvky to Klobouky.
Traditions
The Hody festivities in Brumovice include a costumed procession through the village. The Hody also feature the traditional Brumovická zavádka and a tasting of wine from Brumovice.
