Ivanovice Na Hané: Hotels and Accommodation

Ivanovice na Hané is a destination offering historic local sights and a reason to book a hotel for your stay. Ivanovice na Hané Chateau is a late Renaissance chateau with a valuable arcaded courtyard. The Bukůvka family began construction of the Renaissance chateau in 1608. The building was constructed by Antonín Pariz from Brno with the support of master stonemason Jan Foncun. The chateau is not open to the public.

Ivanovice na Hané lies on the Haná River next to the D1 motorway and the Brno–Přerov railway line.

Culture

At the head of the town square stands the Church of Saint Andrew, a significant landmark of the town; the chateau lies southeast of it. The church has a Gothic core, was rebuilt in the second half of the 17th century, and modified in the 18th century. In its Baroque form, it is one of the town’s historic monuments. Its bell tower dates from 1759 and is decorated with Baroque sculptures.

The smaller structures also contribute to the historic character. The cemetery chapel was built in the Classical style in 1824. The Chapel of Saint Joseph in the cemetery was built in 1824 by František, Margrave of Lusignan; his family crypt is located beneath the arcaded gallery.

At the eastern edge of Ivanovice na Hané lies the Jewish cemetery, with tombstones dating from the early 17th century. The Jewish community in Ivanovice na Hané ceased to exist in 1940.

Ivanovice was granted a privilege to hold an annual fair in 1507. In 1547, Ferdinand I approved a third annual fair on the Tuesday after Pentecost.

The religious monuments also include the sculptural ensemble of Saint Florian. It is a High Baroque religious complex dating from 1721 to 1729. Statues of Saint Florian, Saint Wenceslas, John the Baptist, and the Guardian Angel stand on a monumental pedestal.

Nature

A locust tree approximately 340 years old stands in the town park of Ivanovice na Hané. It is one of the oldest surviving trees of its kind in Moravia.

A 32.4-kilometre circular route begins in Ivanovice na Hané and leads through the gently rolling Haná landscape with ponds. There are bus connections from Ivanovice na Hané to Vyškov and Brno; the circular route starts on Mlýnská Street.
