Nový Poddvorov: Hotels and Accommodation
Nový Poddvorov combines a vibrant local tradition with distinctive landscape and cultural sites. The traditional Hody festival takes place every year on the last Saturday in August. At the same time, the name Nový Poddvorov recalls the vanished town of Potvorov.
Culture
In the centre of the village stands a chapel dating from 1897. You can stop at a restored wooden cross dating from 1881. In the wider regional surroundings of Nový Poddvorov are Holíčsky zámok Castle, Pohansko Castle, the Dívčí Hrady ruins and Fünfkirchen Castle.
Landscape
About 500 metres south of Nový Poddvorov stands the Rozhledna Na Podluží observation tower. The tower is approximately 30 metres high, has 160 steps and was completed in November 2009. From there, views extend over the Austrian border region, the Malé Karpaty, the Slovak and Czech parts of the Bílé Karpaty, Chřiby, Pálava, the Lednice-Valtice Area and the Dolnomoravský úval.
