Ochoz u Tišnova is located in the Svratecká hornatina Nature Park area and at the southwestern foot of Sýkoř Hill. The town’s distinctive landmark is the Chapel of Saint Francis of Assisi.
Nature
The natural area includes Hrušín, a 12.43-hectare natural monument in the cadastral area of Ochoz u Tišnova. It consists of near-natural to natural lime–maple forest with beech and lies along a supraregional biocorridor. The species-rich undergrowth is notable for the occurrence of the specially protected snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis L.).
Dobrá studně features a remarkable landscape shaped by powerful solifluction flows. These are divided by small wetland depressions and were formed by frost weathering and slope processes during the Ice Age.
Culture
The foundation stone of the Chapel of Saint Francis of Assisi is dated to 1876. In 2005, the chapel was completely reconstructed.
The pilgrimage to Saint Francis in Ochoz u Tišnova includes entertainment and a football match between bachelors and married men.
Events
Since 1998, the cycling event “Cyklistický přesun krajinou Ochoz-Pivovar Černá Hora” has been held in August, featuring a race to “Rašák”.
Since 2000, the “NeVyl” event has been held in Ochoz u Tišnova in October, including a tasting.
Getting Around
Variant b) of the cycling tour “Památky Tišnovska” continues through Ochoz u Tišnova to Doubravník, Černvír and Nedvědice.
A yellow-marked hiking trail leads through Ochoz u Tišnova from Štěpánovice via Veselský Chlum. The long-distance cycling route known as the Pražská trasa also passes through the town.
