Přibice: Church, Nature and Wine Route
Přibice lies on a terrace above the Jihlava River. Culture, nature and individual event dates offer different ways for travelers to explore the area—not only through a single attraction, but through several themes.
Culture and Tradition
The Church of St. John the Baptist in Přibice was built in the Romanesque style and is one of the oldest churches in Moravia. Beneath the sacristy of this church is a charnel house dating from the 14th century that has been preserved to this day.
An inscription in the Church of St. John the Baptist has still not been deciphered; its language is also unknown. On the south side of the park in front of the church stands a statue of St. John of Nepomuk. It was erected in 1768 and extensively restored in 2011.
According to local tradition, the Slavic apostles Cyril and Methodius drank from the spring at Apoštolka as they traveled through Moravia. Those who want to organize the historical connections step by step can read the information according to building, monument, inscription and tradition; the themes differ in nature, and none replaces another.
Natural Environment
Remnants of floodplain forests have been preserved in the floodplain around Přibice. Mušovský luh is designated as a Natura 2000 site in Přibice; it contains eutrophic waters and floodplain forests and is home to species such as the Eurasian otter.
Those bringing together different interests within a group can keep nature, local history and events conceptually separate and then organize them according to their own timeframe. The landscape perspective and the cultural perspective therefore stand side by side as two independent viewpoints.

Experiences and Events
The signposted Brněnská Wine Trail, section Uherčice–Těšany, runs through Přibice. During the Open Gardens weekend, you can visit hundreds of exotic plants from around the world at Exotická zahrada Přibice.
The route and the garden event have different focal points: one is a signposted trail section, while the other involves viewing plants. A route, a garden weekend and events held on fixed dates can therefore be planned as different components in terms of both timing and theme.
When choosing a hotel for Přibice, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can be considered as separate comparison points alongside culture, nature, the wine route and the announced events. Even with a budget-conscious travel plan, several levels thus remain distinct: the church’s historical connections, the landscape, the signposted trail section and the dated events. The accommodation decision can therefore be assessed according to the desired priorities and personal budget.
