Prace: Hotels and accommodations

Alois Slovák conceived the Peace Mound as a “place of light” and a memorial against wars.

The adjacent museum presents the permanent exhibition “Battle of the Three Emperors 1805”, which tells the story of the Battle of Slavkov. The museum pavilion also explores the impact of this event on literature, music and film in the exhibition “The Austerlitz Phenomenon” and provides information about the tradition of battle reenactments.

Among the religious buildings is the Baroque Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. It was built in 1728–1730 from the church’s own funds, replacing an already dilapidated earlier church, and features a central layout with an elongated six-lobed floor plan.

The memorial to those who fell in Prace commemorates 27 local residents who died in the First World War from 1914 to 1918. A memorial erected in Prace in 1951 commemorates seven children aged nine to twelve who died after an anti-personnel mine exploded.

Bus line 48 runs from Brno Main Station to the Prace–Mohyla míru stop.

Cyclists can join cycle route 5097 in Prace. It runs via Slavkov u Brna and Bučovice to U Kříže. The educational trail about the Battle of Slavkov includes section PS11 Sokolnice–Prace–Újezd u Brna.
