Rohozec: Hotels and accommodations
In the historic center of Rohozec stands the Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius, built in 1861.
Culture and history
Rohozec was established through medieval colonization as a circular village. The former farmsteads were arranged around the village green. The Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius is notable for its three-tiered tower; in front of it stands a stone cross with the crucified Christ.
A local pilgrimage takes place in Rohozec on July 5, the feast day of Saints Cyril and Methodius.
Nature
The Svídovec natural monument lies in the southwestern part of Rohozec’s cadastral area. Field margins and old agricultural terraces have been preserved on its southern slopes.
The Rohozecký mokřad wetland consists of five pools and wet meadows along a small stream. It lies approximately 300 meters southwest of the built-up area.
Cycling and hiking trails
Marked cycling route 1 runs along road III/37913 through Rohozec. A locally signposted connection branches off from this marked cycling route and leads to Hradčany and Malhostovice, avoiding roads as much as possible.
A green-marked hiking trail runs along the western edge of Rohozec’s cadastral area on the Tišnov–Železné–Jamné–Rašov route. The Železné výhledy cycling tour offers views over Unín, Rohozec, Bukovice, and Rašov.
Sports and events
Rohozec’s sports complex includes a volleyball court, a small-sided football pitch, and a children’s playground. Social and cultural outdoor events take place there next to the fire-water reservoir.
