Týnec: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist was built in the third quarter of the 18th century. Next to a chapel on the outskirts of Týnec stands a commemorative oak tree with an image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. A legend is associated with this image. The chapel beneath the oak tree was built in 1891.

The main pilgrimage in Týnec takes place on the Feast of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist on 29 August. The traditional Hody “pod zeleným” is considered the most important social event in the village of Týnec. It takes place at the beginning of September, after the Feast of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist. Around 80 to 100 unmarried young men and women in costume take part in the Hody.

A 31-kilometre cycling route from Břeclav to Hodonín passes through Týnec. The route runs through flat terrain against the current of the Morava River.
