The Moravian-Silesian Way of St. James and the Velkopavlovická Wine Trail pass through Velké Němčice. The Way of St. James leads from Nosislav along the Svratka River to Velké Němčice and runs through the town center. The Velkopavlovická Wine Trail is 109 kilometers long, passes through 31 wine-growing communities, and is marked with yellow metal signs bearing the blue logo of the wine trail. It passes through Velké Němčice and then follows Road II/425; its southern loop leads from Židlochovice via Velké Němčice to Uherčice.
Culture and History
The Pivovar brewery building in Velké Němčice is an integral part of the château estate. The Pivovar was first mentioned in 1578 and retains its original layout with vaulted structures and typical brewery features.
The Church of St. Wenceslas and St. Vitus was built around the middle of the 13th century as an originally Gothic structure. After being damaged during the war, it was rebuilt and reconsecrated in 1652. The church also has a main altar dating from 1895.
The Kaštýlek Chapel in Velké Němčice was originally a Baroque chapel in the château garden. It is considered a valuable example of smaller-scale religious architecture and a testament to the château garden, which no longer exists today.
