Culture
Vyškov Castle was converted from a Gothic castle dating from the 15th century between 1665 and 1682. The castle now houses the Muzeum Vyškovska, with eight permanent exhibitions and changing exhibitions. It also features an extensive collection of vyškovské lidové keramiky; the production of this pottery was established in Vyškov from the early 18th century until 1945.
The Zámecká zahrada, with a loggia dating from 1673, is part of the historic architecture. It has seven arcades and Tuscan columns, while the upper section is decorated with a balustrade. The Chapel of St. Anne is a 16th-century Renaissance building with fragments of wall paintings. These Renaissance wall paintings in the Chapel of svaté Anny are signed with the year 1584.
The Renesanční radnice was built in 1569 and preserves remains of a Renaissance arcade, Renaissance marquetry doors, and stucco decoration from the 18th century. The former synagogue of Vyškov is part of the town's urban conservation area. Its restoration in 2024 highlighted its art-historical value in connection with the history of Jews in Moravia.
The Hanácký statek is a replica of a farm dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Traditional materials such as thatch for the roof and clay plaster inside were used for the building; period-typical courtyard elements and agricultural equipment are also on display.
