Habrovany: Castle Park, Church and Natural Attractions

At the western edge of Habrovany stands the Church of the Most Holy Trinity and Saints Simon and Jude, together with its cemetery, on a slight rise. A surrounding wall encloses the ensemble. The church was expanded and fitted with a vault in 1730. In front of the building stands a late Baroque stone statue of Saint Florian from 1791. The two structures belong to different historical contexts.

The castle park in Habrovany is open year-round, around the clock; admission is free, and visits are at one's own risk. It serves as a quiet zone where visitors can rest and relax. Several dendrological features add to the character of the park grounds. The combination of the protected castle, park design and remarkable trees forms a distinct focus within a visit to the town.

Panská skála is an abandoned, flooded quarry and serves as a refuge for amphibians. It thus contrasts with this landscaped park as a landscape feature of different origin. The places mentioned therefore differ in their origins and character: a historic building, a park and a former quarry meet here.

Luleč Hill is located in the immediate vicinity of Habrovany. The surrounding area also includes Mount Urban, Kuchlov Ruins, Hrádek Ruins and Stádla Hill. These destinations combine different landscape and cultural features without having to be grouped into a single excursion area.

The wider regional surroundings of Habrovany include Radlovec Hill, Brno Zoo and the Monument to the Victims of the First World War. It is therefore important to distinguish between the immediate vicinity, the general surroundings and the wider regional area. This keeps the spatial relationships of the individual destinations clearly recognizable.

The annual vintage vehicle gathering “Habrovanské otvírání šoupátek” was held for the 23rd time in 2025 in the castle park of Habrovany. The park is therefore connected not only with the town's architectural history but also serves as the venue for a regularly held event.

The “Habrovanská slivoviciáda,” featuring a sauerkraut tasting, took place in Habrovany in 2018, 2019 and 2025. The vintage vehicle gathering and the tasting event emphasize different aspects: one is part of the event program in the castle park, while the other connects the town's name with a culinary event.
