Bořislav: Hotels and Accommodation

Bořislav is an Old Slavic settlement in a hilly, dramatically shaped landscape on a slope. The village lies within the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area.

Culture

Among the state-protected monuments in Bořislav is the Church of St. Catherine. The present building was constructed in 1717 and restored in 1820; the church originally dates back to 1384. The Baroque building has a single nave and a rectangular layout, with a separate presbytery and a sacristy adjoining the south side. With its imposing bell tower, it is a distinctive landmark on the E55 long-distance route between Teplice and Lovosice.

The historic villagescape also includes the Baroque vicarage of Bořislav, a two-storey building from 1733 with a mansard roof. On the main road within the municipality stands a Baroque sandstone column with a Pietà at its original location; it dates from 1720 and has a Corinthian capital as well as a small sculpture of the Bohosudov Pietà.

The village square is home to a stone Calvary cross dating from 1801. The Calvary monument depicts Christ crucified, Mary Magdalene, and a skull entwined by a snake.

Hiking and Cycling Routes

The Friendship Trail runs from Bořislav and Černčice to Bílka and then continues jointly to the foot of Milešovka. As a sculpture trail, it features 14 modern sculptures created by Czech and German sculptors.
