Boleboř: Hotels and accommodations

Boleboř is a place with a history of sacred sites, preserved half-timbered houses, and named natural attractions in the surrounding area.

History

In 1729, a new Baroque church dedicated to Saint Nicholas was completed in Boleboř. On August 23, 1993, the Chapel of Saint Nicholas was consecrated on the site of the former Church of Saint Nicholas; in 1999, it was extended with a tower.

At the end of the 1950s, a former inn in Boleboř was converted into a recreation center. Boleboř became a recreational area after city dwellers bought uninhabited holiday homes in the area and established vacation accommodations there.

Culture

The Nová radnice municipal gallery is located at Boleboř 79 in a former recreation center. In 2015, Boleboř hosted the 13th edition of the sculptors' symposium. During the event, four woodcarvers demonstrate their skills by creating sculptures from large oak trunks.

Several well-preserved half-timbered houses remain in Boleboř. The houses numbered 6, 10, 13, and 14 are registered as immovable monuments, are privately owned, and are not accessible to tourists.

Nature

Kočičí skály can be reached from the Jirkov–Boleboř–Svahová–Hora sv. Kateřiny road via the Sluneční cesta. The Kočičí skály climbing area near Pyšná features long, difficult routes as well as several easier routes.

Helenčiny vodopády is located about 40 meters from the cycle path between Svahová and the Sluneční cesta.
