Chraberce: Hotels and Accommodation

Chraberce can be explored through its recorded history, its townscape, and the landscape in the surrounding area.

History and Culture

It is recorded that in 1100, Nemoj of the Vršovci family donated Chraberce to the church on Vyšehrad. The Vyšehrad chapter community owned Chraberce until the Hussite Wars. In 1544, the city of Louny bought Chraberce from the Vřesovci family.

Chraberce is home to a small Baroque chapel of Saint George with a tent roof and a small turret at its peak. It contains a Baroque painting of Saint Wenceslas, which was restored by V. Šváb in 1873. Below the chapel stands an empty pedestal of the statue of Saint Bernard from 1736. The pedestal is decorated with a relief of Saint George. A Baroque statue of the Virgin Mary from 1726 is also mentioned in Chraberce.

Some of the archaeological finds south of Chraberce are kept in the museum in Louny. In 1930, hops were grown on 8 hectares in Chraberce; this documents the village’s historical hop-growing tradition.

Landscape and Nature

Chraberce is located in the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. In the vicinity of Chraberce, Oblík rises opposite the village in the landscape panorama of Louny. The 509-metre-high basalt hill is a distinctive landscape feature and has steppe vegetation. The geobiocenosis of the Lounské středohoří is protected on the basalt hill of Oblík in the vicinity of Chraberce.

Routes and Connections

Cycle Route No. 232 connects Louny and Chraberce. In the vicinity of Chraberce, a longer hike to Oblík can begin; the green-marked hiking trail runs from Louny to Mnichov. Bus route 562702 operates on the Chlumčany, Vlčí–Louny–Libčeves route.
