Lenešice: Hotels and Accommodation

Lenešice is located 4 km northwest of Louny on the Louny–Počerady–Most route. The town is also situated on the Louny–Most railway line.

Culture and History

The Church of St. Simon and Jude is an originally Romanesque single-nave church from the 13th century. Its tower bears a Latin inscription with the year 1262; it is considered one of the oldest monuments of its kind in Bohemia. The associated complex comprises the church, an enclosing wall with a gate, and two gates with stairways.

The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk, with a statue of the saint, has been restored. The château in Lenešice was built in 1599 by Jiří Černín of Chudenice.

Nature

Lenešická tůňka is located about 2 km west of Lenešice and is a habitat for protected plant and animal species. The European white elm known as Jilm u tůně in Lenešice is 25 m tall, has a trunk circumference of 440 cm, and is estimated to be 180 years old.

Educational Trail

The Lenešice Educational Trail begins at Havlíčkovo Square by the Lenešický Pond. It leads via Knížete Václava Square and past a niche chapel on Pivovarská Street. The trail can end with a rest at Lenešická tůňka.
