Veltěže: Hotels and Accommodation

Veltěže combines a clearly marked cycle route with distinctive architecture, local offerings, and archaeological finds. This creates a concrete picture of the place between everyday life, regional connections, and historic sites.

Culture and History

The Chapel of St. Florian stands on the district road near the center of Veltěže. The building is designed in the Neo-Romanesque style and has two semicircular side windows; the walls are articulated by pilasters.

In 1790, a pot containing old coins and, nearby, an old cellar with iron doors were found at the site known as Zámeček. There are also archaeological traces in the vicinity of Veltěže: Neolithic stone tools were found near a mill, while pits and graves from the La Tène culture containing iron finds were identified in fields southwest of the village.

The Výstava na stromech took place in Veltěže from October 5 to 12, 2024. It is a nationwide exhibition event held every year in October during the Week for Decent Work.

Activities and Local Offerings

The 22 km-long Louny–Peruc cycle route passes through Černčice, Veltěže, Slavětín, Kystra, Radonice, Pátek, and Stradonice before reaching Peruc.

The Veltěže library offers lending services for children, teenagers, and adults and holds the “kroužek šikovných ručiček” club on Fridays. The Exkalibur Veltěže riding club also offers a seven-lesson pony course for children aged 5 to 10, with theoretical and practical parts.

Nature and Regional Connections

The municipality of Veltěže can serve as a starting point for trips to the České středohoří and Žatecko tourist areas. The Veltěže community program also included an excursion to a spring in an alluvial forest.
