The present-day Inundační Bridge between Louny and Dobroměřice was built over the floodplain from 1814 to 1817. It has been protected as a cultural monument since 1964. It is 210 metres long, or 272 metres including its approach roads, and has 40 pillars with arches between them.

Culture and history

The Church of St Matthew in Dobroměřice dates from the second half of the 13th century; it was rebuilt in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries and restored in 1907. The nave contains Gothic wall paintings from the second half of the 14th century.

On the north-eastern village green of Dobroměřice stands a statue of Saint Wenceslas in a fenced lawn. He is depicted in princely clothing with a crown, banner and shield.

North-west of the church stands the old School No. 5 with a Neoclassical inscription plaque. It bears the coat of arms of Louny and is dated 1805.

Nature and landscape

Most of Dobroměřice lies within the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. The boundary of the protected area runs along the local road from Dobroměřice towards Nečichy and Chraberce. The part within Dobroměřice belongs exclusively to Protection Zone IV. The area of Dobroměřice also lies within a Natura 2000 bird protection area.

Trails and activities

The Louny–Lužerady educational trail is 5.5 kilometres long and suitable for pedestrians and cyclists. It includes the Rozcestí u Dobroměřic station; the route passes through the Na Losech garden colony between fields towards České středohoří.

The RC Modelář Dobroměřice grass airfield has a grass runway that is 186 metres long and 10 metres wide. The club uses it for radio-controlled model aircraft; according to the club, flying is currently possible there.
