Žabovřesky nad Ohří lies on the left bank of the Ohře River. The first written mention of the village dates from 1336.

History

The Zajíc family of Valdek owned the Budyňské estate until 1613. Later owners of Žabovřesky nad Ohří included the Šternberk, Dietrichstein, and Herbstein families; the Dietrichsteins took over the estate from 1676.

A late Baroque chapel without a specific dedication stands in the village square of Žabovřesky nad Ohří. Since 1958, the chapel has been a protected immovable cultural monument of the Czech Republic. It has a mansard roof with a bell tower.
