Homole U Panny: Hotels and accommodations

Homole u Panny is located in the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. Stage IV of the Anniversary Trail leads through the village from Buková hora via Zubrnice and Homole u Panny to Sedlo and Litýš.

Nature and trails

Another route through the landscape is the 58-kilometre cycle circuit, Route 3066. It leads from Ústí nad Labem via Velké Březno, Byňov, Homole u Panny, Třebušín, Ploskovice, Žitenice, Litoměřice, Píšťany, Libochovany, Církvice and Sebuzín back to Ústí nad Labem. The mountains of Trpasličí kameny, Kozí vrch, Varhošť and Hradiště u Hlinné are also located in the vicinity of Homole u Panny.

Culture and history

The Church of Saint Pius V is a Classicist religious building on a rocky hill above the village square and forms a prominent feature of the western edge of Homole u Panny. It can be reached via a relatively steep path, whose incline is eased by several pairs of steps. The building was erected in 1787; a chronogram gives the year 1788, while the foundation stone was laid in 1787. It was built on the site of a chapel erected in 1724 by the Dominicans of Litoměřice.

Josef Emanuel Hibsch (1852–1941) was born in Homole u Panny and mapped the České středohoří geologically. A mineralogical museum was established in Homole u Panny in his honour.
