Krásný Dvůr: Hotels and Accommodation

The château park of Krásný Dvůr was created by Jan Rudolf Czernin between 1783 and 1793 as one of the first landscape parks in Bohemia and covers almost 100 hectares.

Château and History

Krásný Dvůr Château acquired its present appearance after extensive renovations between 1720 and 1724. The public tour of the château includes 11 rooms; most of the rooms open to the public are furnished with historic interiors. The new visitor tour “Nobility on the Road” presents the history of Count Jan Rudolf Černín z Chudenic, an enlightened nobleman, traveller and creator of the Krásný Dvůr landscape park.

Park

The château park is home to the so-called Goethe Oak, estimated to be 1,000 years old and now preserved only as a torso. The Gloriet, also known as Malý templ or Venušin chrámek, stands on a high elevation above a pond. The Chinese Pavilion is an octagonal structure intended to resemble a Chinese pagoda. Poustevníkova rok­le can be accessed via a large Neo-Gothic stone bridge.

Digital Exploration

Since 1 May 2021, Krásný Dvůr Château has offered the TourStories mobile application as an interactive digital guide through the château park. The TourStories park guide includes audio commentary, a photo gallery, historical views and park maps, drone videos and music recordings. With the TourStories guide, visitors can explore the château park at their own pace.

Getting There

Parking spaces are available approximately 30 metres from the château gate. During the tourist season, trains operated by Doupovské dráhy run to Krásný Dvůr on the route from Kadaň to Podbořany and back; the stop is about a 20-minute walk from the château.
