Podbořanský Rohozec lies among the wooded foothills of the Doupov Mountains. National Cycle Route No. 35 passes through the village on its 125 km route between Plzeň and Měděnec.
Landscape
The cadastral area of Podbořanský Rohozec lies in the part of the Hradiště site of Community importance belonging to the Louny District. The Doupov Mountains Bird Protection Area is a breeding ground for 148 bird species.
Culture
The Chapel of St. Notburga in Podbořanský Rohozec is a subsidiary church of the Nepomyšl parish. Its façade is decorated with statues of Saint Notburga, Saint Procopius and Saint Isidore. No regular services are held in the Chapel of St. Notburga.
Around 90 gravestones have been preserved in the Jewish cemetery in Podbořanský Rohozec. About 1 km southwest of Podbořanský Rohozec, near the Střelnice forester's lodge, lies the circular fortification of Budiš, also known as Rondel. It presumably fell during the invasion of a crusader army around 1421.
History
The ruins of Křečov Castle lie hidden in the forest between Podbořanský Rohozec and Nepomyšl. Below Křečov Castle, the ruins of a mill with a sawmill have been preserved.
