Ledvice: Hotels and accommodations
Ledvice is located largely in an industrial landscape shaped by Severočeské doly Chomutov and the Ledvice Power Plant. In the regional tourism classification, the town belongs to the Krušné hory and Podkrušnohoří area.
Industrial Culture and History
The Ledvice Information Centre presents the past, present and future of traditional energy technology. It offers free guided tours of traditional coal-fired power plant technology. An interactive 3D screen allows visitors to explore the inside of the power plant. The new Ledvice Power Plant is a destination for industrial tourism and a visit to an observation platform.
With the development of coal mining in the region, many residents of Ledvice found employment in this sector. The Church of St. Mary was built in Ledvice in 1896; it was demolished in 1964 as a result of mining.
