Duchcov: Hotels and Accommodations

Duchcov Castle, originally known by its German name Dux, has been a national cultural monument since 2001 and is particularly associated with the Valdštejn family and Giacomo Casanova, who wrote his memoirs there. Duchcov Castle offers four guided tours for visitors. The “Casanova na zámku” tour includes the billiard room, the servants’ quarters, Giacomo Casanova’s apartment and the library.

Culture and Urban History

The Duchcov City Museum presents the rich history of Duchcov and its immediate surroundings and displays archaeological finds from prehistoric times.

The “Ve stopách G. Casanovy” educational trail runs through Duchcov and provides information about Baroque sculpture, works by the modern sculptors Heinrich Scholze and Herrmann Zettlitzer, the legends of Barbora Pond, and forgotten corners of the old streets of Duchcov.
