The fortress of Bitozeves was first mentioned in 1405.

History and monuments

The ruins of the fortress of Bitozeves were converted into a granary in 1691. The building of the former fortress and granary features remnants of Renaissance sgraffiti on its façades.

At the entrance to Bitozeves from the direction of Postoloprty stand the Boží muka of Bitozeves. The niche chapel of Bitozeves is located in the town center. Both the Boží muka of Bitozeves and the niche chapel of Bitozeves are state-protected cultural monuments.

Landscape

Raná is a mountain in the vicinity of Bitozeves. The mountains Oblík, Srdov, and Brník are also located in the vicinity of Bitozeves.

Hiking

The “Podle Chomutovky do Postoloprt” route is designated as an easy hiking trail. The section of the route in Bitozeves is listed as 7.6 km long. Along this section, a church and the former fortress, which was converted into a granary, stand on the slope on the left bank.
