Blšany U Loun: Hotels and Accommodation

The Rybník pond is located in the centre of Blšany u Loun; the local landscape also includes the Zámeček and the Blšanský Chlum countryside. Cycle route No. 202 “Louny – Peruc” runs through Blšany u Loun, while the yellow-marked hiking trail No. 6940 “Louny, náměstí – Blšanský chlum – Brloh” passes through the municipality’s administrative area.

Trails and Landscape

Cycle route No. 202 “Louny – Peruc” runs through Blšany u Loun. It leads from Černčice via road III/22941 into the village centre and then eastwards along a local road to Veltěže. The yellow-marked hiking trail No. 6940 “Louny, náměstí – Blšanský chlum – Brloh” also runs through the municipality’s administrative area. There, it branches off towards Blšanský chlum and then continues in the direction of Chlumčany and Brloh.

The geologically significant area of Blšanský Chlum and its surroundings is partially exposed by a disused quarry and natural outcrops of Tertiary volcanic rocks. The Blšanský Chlum area is also designated as a European Site of Community Importance for the protection of the Jersey tiger moth (Callimorpha quadripunctaria) and includes xerothermic biotopes as well as rare and specially protected plant and invertebrate species.

Zámeček and Remembrance

Zámeček Blšany u Loun developed from an older fortified manor; its remains are now incorporated into the residential part of the chateau. The fortified manor was converted into a Baroque chateau in the second half of the 17th century. Zámeček, including its granary, is registered as an immovable cultural monument under registration number 42653/5-1149.

The war memorial in Blšany u Loun was erected in 1947 in memory of local victims of the Second World War. It also commemorates residents who fell in the First World War or did not return from the battlefields. The memorial has a newly constructed access path outside the fenced area as well as a newly laid lawn.

Pond and Local Amenities

The Rybník pond is located in the centre of Blšany u Loun, near the children’s playground and Blšanský zámek. Fishing permits for the Rybník are available at the municipal office during office hours.

The Sportovní centrum in Blšany u Loun has a hall or gymnasium and table tennis facilities. Both can be reserved for a fee by prior telephone arrangement with the municipal office.

In 2026, beadwork and wirework sessions with Alena Prailová are regularly held at the library in Blšany u Loun, every Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., unless another event is scheduled.
