Tuchořice: Hotels and Accommodations

The cadastral area of Tuchořice lies almost entirely within the Džbán Nature Park. This park preserves the character of the Džbán chalk tableland with its geomorphological, natural, and aesthetic values, while also enabling sustainable tourist use and recreation.

Nature and Landscape

Among the notable natural monuments is Miocenní sladkovodní vápence. It protects a geological profile with a freshwater carbonate sequence from the Miocene, significant paleontological finds, and the rare plant population of fringed gentian (hořeček brvitý). The limestone outcrops of this natural monument lie above Tuchořice in the direction of Lipno, are up to 13 meters high, and cover approximately 1.7 hectares.

Another paleontological site is the Travertinová kupa natural monument, with skeletal remains of Tertiary predators and mollusks. Kozinecká stráň comprises fragments of a thermophilous oak forest community with several important protected plant species and a rich population of white dittany.

Distinctive elevations also form part of the regional landscape: Mount Džbán lies in the vicinity of Tuchořice, while the hill Hájek [Lipno] is nearby. In the wider region are the mountains of Raná and Loustín. The U Petra a Pavla educational trail ends at the Tuchořice–Výrov crossroads.

Culture and History

The chateau in Tuchořice is a one-storey rectangular building with a stepped gable, an adjoining tower-like structure, and a crenellated roofline. The ruins of Pravda and the Church of St. Gothard are also located in the vicinity of Tuchořice. In the wider region are the Svatý Prokop monument and the ruins of Hrádek.

Local Life and Transport

Tuchořice is home to the Hospůdka “U Jožana” cultural center, with a restaurant and an adjoining hall where cultural events take place.

Tuchořice is served by bus routes 739, 741, and 717 of the Ústecký kraj integrated transport system; they connect the village with Louny, Lipno, Žatec, Kounov, Pnětluky, and Třeskonice.
